North London Council currently recruiting for Highways Safety Inspectors - Ongoing Contract - £22ph plus

This North London Local Authority are currently recruiting for a Highways Inspector to join the in house team managing a number of safety requirements and contractors completing works. The Council is easily accessible by public transport and has undergone a huge regeneration programme in recent years.

Your new role
You will be responsible for all inspection activities related to the Highways Service. This will include carrying out a regular programme of inspections within a specified area; checking the quality and quantity of works being carried out by contractors and ensuring accuracy of invoices submitted for payment.
Responsibilities are varied but will include inspecting streets, logging and reporting defects on assets such as street furniture, carriageway surfaces and road gullies and raising jobs as necessary, investigating reports of defects and complaints received from the public and other sources and raising remedial works where necessary and ensuring all defects are priced correctly using the appropriate schedule of rate items.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have the city and guilds Highway safety inspection course - 6033, unit 301/311 although this is not essential. Ideally you will have worked with the Highways Asset Management System CONFIRM and have worked within a similar London Borough previously. You will need to work in a proactive and professional manner at all times and have your own driving license as this will be a mobile role.

What you'll get in return
A very competitive hourly rate of £22ph plus on a PAYE basis. This will be a long term contract and the team are looking to expand so will either be extended or if you are interesting in a permanent role this may be available in the future.
