Traffic/Transport Manager to work on a number of Key projects based in Southend-On-Sea
Your new company
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for an outcome focused and experienced Traffic/Transport Manager to join their Traffic Management and Highways Network team.
Your new role
The successful candidate will be responsible for: a detailed accident analysis of the last five years accident data, in addition to a complete traffic regulatory signs review to determine the capital programme for future years. A traffic regulation order review is required to ensure that the next consolidation order is fit for purpose, make sure we have a communication and stakeholder strategy that supports delivery.
It will entail progressing capital works and delivering Members' day to day expectations in terms of managing and undertaking various traffic surveys and analysis and scheme designs
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to take responsibility and provide direction within this key area for the Council. You will need an excellent knowledge of the area of Civil Engineering and this can come from a degree or relevant experience at a management level. Excellent understanding of local government and the political environment is also key, along with experience of budget and contract management.
What you'll get in return
This is an interim position and the expectation is that the initial contract will run until the end of the calendar year. The role will be offered on a daily rate and will be based on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
