Our client delivers civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects throughout the UK, and provides a full building and civil engineering service internationally. Two subdivisions, Rail and Mining, further complement its capabilities. Their Rail division is the Group's specialist construction and management services arm for the UK railway sector, providing multi-disciplinary project management and construction services for infrastructure buildings within the rail industry. Areas of particular expertise include stations; depots; bridgeworks; structural renewals; and maintenance.
Due to expansion on its successful rail framework agreement, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Construction Manager.
Requirements
Post Objectives will be to:
• Manage the implementation and control phase of a project or several projects simultaneously. • Communicate to project team and senior management effectively both orally and in writing. • Manage the works to ensure a working environment that is safe and without risk to health and environment so far as is reasonably practicable.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement projects and manage the works, ensuring the production of comprehensive reports and information to employees and sub-contractors.
The Individual:
The successful applicant will • Essentially have proven contract management experience of Civil Engineering projects in both site and office based disciplines. • Be educated to at least HNC level in a construction related subject - preferably civil engineering although not essential. • Corporate membership of a professional body would be desirable. • Ideally PTS qualified. • CSCS Civil Engineering Site Supervisor (Gold Card) or above. • Ideally have previous experience of Civil Engineering in a railway environment. • Have strong IT skills with familiarity of MS packages and Excel as well as a sound understanding of Email.
