
About the Role
Our client has various vacancies at various different levels within their structures team, working within providing engineering design services for the technical development and delivery of highway bridge replacement and strengthening schemes, as well as routine maintenance.
The successful candidate/s will liaise with the Public, Clients and other Corporate Bodies in the development and delivery of schemes and develop and manage relationships with Clients, Contractors & others.
You will also prepare design calculations to Highways Agency Standards alongside preparation and checking of design documentation including specifications, bills of quantities, reports and drawings to ensure quality. You will be expected to deliver technical work to a professional standard and identify and resolve technical issues/problems to ensure that project objectives are met. The role will also involve undertaking Feasibility studies for replacement/strengthening of highway structures.
Other duties include:
" Site Supervision and Contract Administration.
" Work in accordance with SHEQ policies and procedures
" Understanding and implementing health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
" Providing guidance and coaching to junior team members
" Taking ownership of own personal development to build professional capability
About You
Qualified to at least MEng level, you will bring highly developed written and spoken communication skills and good structural analysis ability. You will also bring technical understanding that includes:
" The design, assessment and maintenance of concrete and steel bridges
" UK highways industry best practice in construction techniques, materials and products; and CDM, hazard identification and risk management
