A Brief Introduction to Medair Medair brings life saving relief and rehabilitation to the most vulnerable people affected by disasters conflict and crisis particularly the forgotten men women and children who live in difficult to access regions in Africa the Middle East and Asia. Medair is a non governmental organisation (NGO) with visionary staff who are motivated by their Christian faith to care for people in need. Location: Country: D.R. Congo Isiro Haut Uélé Province Orientale Starting Date: As soon aspossible Contract Duration: 15 months Work Percentage: 100% Project Overview: Medair operates in three sectors: Health: supporting IDPs inIrumu and Bas & Haut Uélé; WASH: improving water and sanitation in healthcentres and households; Infrastructure: rehabilitation of bridges and crossingsto improve humanitarian access. Main Responsibilities: The Construction Project Manager will manage the rehabilitationof bridges and other river crossings in Niangara Poko. Key Activity Areas: Management Manage and planthe work of the construction team. With the teammotivate stakeholders to ensure a high level of participation and projectownership. Write interim andfinal reports for the project. Technical Oversee technicaldesign and execution of rehabilitation locations. Train Medair teamon work standards required of team and contractors. Ensure the workmeets quality standards budget logframe and timing. Planning and Reporting Conduct regularmonitoring and evaluation assessments against project objectives. Logistics Responsible forthe oversight of requests for construction materials; to ensure timely arrivalof materials as needed for construction. Security and Safety Management To implement goodpractice health and safety approaches during all construction activities.
