POSITION SUMMARY The position is within the Geotechnical Department in the Leamington Office which undertakes a variety of geotechnical projects across the UK. The post holder will be responsible for delivering geotechnical interpretation and design for small to large projects ranging from Housing Commercial Rail Highway and Wind Farms. You should have the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time and have good client liaison skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design engineer who is looking to develop their career and take on new challenges. An ability to use SLIDE WALLAP and HoleBASE or similar applications would be desirable as would knowledge of EC7 design approach. The engineer would need to be flexible and when required should be willing to assist the Geo environmental Department with the execution and interpretation of ground investigations. In this respect a working knowledge and appreciation of the geo environmental assessment of contaminated land would be an advantage although not essential. MAIN DUTIES Geotechnical design of shallow foundations piles retaining walls soil nails ground anchors earthworks pavements and ground improvement Assessment of natural and man made slopes and design of stabilisation measures Design of Temporary Works such as Working Platforms Design and execution of desk studies and ground investigations including soil and rock description Assist in the preparation of fee quotes for geotechnical design and ground investigations Acting as a mentor / advisor to Graduate members of staff Technical report writing drafting of engineering drawings and specifications Attendance at meetings (internal and external) with Clients Contractors Local Authorities and inter discipline communication with structural and civil engineers SUDS designers planners etc. REQUIREMENTS Education/Learning Experience You will possess a relevant engineering degree Chartered status A minimum of 10 years relevant experience Competencies Good communication skills Self motivated and able to manage own workload to agreed timescales Ability to manage and check the work of junior staff Present a professional image to all clients and employees
