Job Title: Project Manager/Business Development Manager Roads/Civils Location: Regional Queensland/Australia Pay Rate: 170 250k pa package There is a significant amount of civils and roading packages happening across the state of Queensland as a result of the flood repair works, capital investment in the infrastructure and also development driven by the mining and resources sector. This development is set to last over the next 3 4 years and will mainly be based in and around regional centres throughout the state QLD. Company The National company has undertaken significant growth over the last few years enjoying significant footholds in the road construction, private subdivision development and mining and resources sectors. They have a variety of transportation infrastructure (roading) projects across the state of Queensland and are looking for a regionally based Project Managers to perform a business development function and also drop back and deliver works which he brings in. The projects range in value from 30m to 100m, and include capital investment packages, major maintenance works, and also include developing a pipeline for smaller packages of works for the specialist units of the company to perform. Main Duties As Project Manager, you will be managing and controlling all aspects of a geographical area, including winning of work, staffing and resourcing of the team, H&S, Commercial & Contractual Aspects, overall planning and programming of the works, and management of the staff to meet the geographical areas objectives.Other key responsibilities include: Developing and continuing relationships with new and existing customers Managing all operational aspects of specific projectsWorking closely with the estimating and planning team in an initial project start up phaseManaging the interfacing with the client and other key stake holders. Tracking all the commerciality’s of the unit, including Profit/loss accountability Regularly reporting to the senior management on progress and commercial matters. Providing information and managing tender submissions. Requirements The successful candidate will bring to the role; Previous demonstrated experience in delivering a pipeline of work and delivering that work through management of a team. Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or construction related qualification Min 8 + years post graduate experience Previously demonstrated experience in successfully delivering a road/civils construction based services. Chartership considered highly beneficial but not essential. A practical minded hands on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills A solutions orientated attitude with a desire to be a leader.
