As the repair and rebuild ofChristchurch#x2019;s infrastructure prepares to get under way major contractors are looking to recruit specialists who will play an integral part in the process. So far much of the completed work has been focussed on temporarily repairing the city#x2019;s infrastructure to maintain services for the population. The plan was always to replace much of the infrastructure and as the new season starts in September/October so this work will get underway. Apart from the significant damage to buildings and infrastructure during the earthquake one of the biggest issues to delay the rebuild has been the extensive damage to the ground. Since day one geotechnical engineers have been working constantly throughout the city to assessing the damage to the ground and the impacts that this will have on construction going forward. As the rebuild of the civil infrastructure looks to get underway my client is looking for a contractor#x2019;s senior geotechnical engineer to join their team. You will have extensive experience of working as a geotechnical engineer for a contractor with a particular focus on heavy civil works. Your experience will involve a significant amount of design and build and you will looked on to supply engineering solutions for on going projects. This is a site based role working in unique circumstances so previous seismic experience will certainly be a bonus.
