Associate Director - Transportation (Highways & Bridges)
We are looking to recruit an Associate Director to work within our Highways Bridge team of the Transportation Business Line. This is a full time permanent position and could be based in either our Newcastle Altrincham/Manchester Chelmsford or St Albans offices. Job Responsibilities Business Development To take a lead role in business development activities and to ensure business targets are met. To develop sound client relationships being alert to commercial opportunities. To identify emerging opportunities and develop strategies to fully exploit them. To lead or assist with the preparation of major proposals. Risk Management Develop and maintain a philosophy and attitude of sounds risk management through comprehensive reviews of contractual risk on projects conformity with the Legal Reference Guide and the continuing developing of good practices; and Assist in the wide corporate and management functions of the Highways Bridge Sector to ensure continuing growth and development of the sector overall. This includes a requirement to work flexibly across the UK and other AECOM geographies. Resource Management Where appropriate will assume responsibility for delivery teams ensuring the necessary levels and deployment of appropriate resource. Grow technical capability through the development of skills base across existing delivery teams and external appointments. Candidate Requirements A Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent with demonstrable leadership and business management experience. Key skills and attributes needed include: Proven ability to forge and maintain strong client relationships; Established standing within the highway maintenance community; Track record of converting potential opportunities into contracted workload Proven leader able to demonstrate capability of coordinating and interpolating periodic asset inspections in compliance with industry guidance and best practice Understanding of the legal and commercial risks associated with asset management commissions (claims payment mechanisms inventory accuracy seasonal maintenance requirements etc) Familiarisation of working under asset support and operational maintenance contracts and the specific contractual considerations these bring.
