We are now currently recruiting for a Senior Group/Principal Engineer for our Eastern Europe region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Independent Engineering services for the construction monitoring of significant PPP or IFI funded motorway projects in Eastern European region. This is a senior level post with high level responsibilities which include interfacing with Government Ministries Key Lenders and major European Contractors. The role is particularly relevant within the Company’s strategic business plan for the region and has the potential for further long term assignments. Provision of accommodation medical insurance transport and flights is included. Position is based long term overseas (Eastern Europe) Responsibilities Leading a multi discipline professional site team including senior and junior engineers geotechnical environmental and other specialists and technicians including local staff Experience of supervision of tunnels and large span bridge structures would be an advantage. Preparation and presentation of technical and progress reports for clients Adhering to the company’s QSE procedures and briefing team members on these. Instigating and maintaining business management systems and compilation of project specific documentation including risk assessments. Requirements: Appropriate academic and professional qualifications including Chartered/Licensed Engineer and Member of relevant Professional Institution with solid experience in the design process and supervision of construction of international highway projects. In depth knowledge and experience of contract management and claims management with particular reference to FIDIC based contracts. Knowledge of the PPP process including principles of Concession Agreements and risk ownerships. Ability to research information and data independently and ability to corroborate facts required for the resolution of contractual problems and disputes. Experience of working with our key clients e.g. major international contractors and IFI’s (e.g. EBRD EU EIB etc) Excellent project management skills commercial awareness financial management skills. Desirable Experience of project scheduling including resourcing using industry standard software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project. The Individual: Excellent interpersonal organisational and communication skills both verbally and in writing Ability to build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities. Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build relationships with clients. Have a valid UK driving licence. Be available to work overseas on long term assignments (accompanied status).
