Position Summary To prepare civil and structural engineering drawings and details using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D. Main Duties Preparation of detailed drawings and calculations to obtain technical approval for adoptable highway or sewerage schemes in accordance with national and local authority specifications including S38 and S278 for highways and S104 S106 and S98 etc for sewerage. Projects will include residential commercial industrial and wind farm developments. Preparation of private drainage layouts external levels geometric setting out and construction details etc for residential commercial and industrial schemes for NHBC or Building Regulation approval. To exercise due care and diligence Check drawings prepared by others To print drawings for in house checking and external issue To assist other staff in managing the design team To liaise and communicate with external professionals and clients To represent JNP Group at meetings and in writing To occasionally attend site to inspect various stages of construction works To occasionally carry out simple tape and level topographic surveys To comply with the requirements of the JNP Quality Assurance system and other policy documents To maintain their own professional development. REQUIREMENTS Education/LearningExperience 5 GCSE’s grade A C including Maths and English Ideally an HNC/HND or similar in an appropriate built environment subject. Work Experience A minimum of 2 years experience working as a Technician Technical Skills Auto Cad skills Autodesk 3D skills an advantage Some knowledge of highways and drainage Able to carry out simple tape and level topographic surveys Knowledge of Microsoft Office Competencies Good written and verbal communication skills Able to manage own workload within agreed time scale Present a professional image to all visitors external professional clients and staff TRAINING & OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT You will be encouraged to obtain professional qualifications (such as ICE Eng Tech) You will be encouraged to advance within the project team partner section and practice hierarchy within JNP Group.
