Your new role
Your new role is for a Principle Bridge Engineer to join our centrally located Bristol office, which has an established track record of successfully delivering major transport schemes. You will be working on feasibility studies, scheme designs, detailed designs, assessments, inspections, construction support and management services on a wide range of bridges and transport projects including highway and railway schemes. Your new team is involved in local, national and international work with a variety of clients both from the public and private sector including design & build partnerships with contractors. You will be working on some major Bridge projects around the UK as well as working closely with Network Rail. You will be undertaking and managing rail and road bridges and associated structural engineering schemes from inspection and assessment, feasibility through to detailed design. As well as taking responsibility for training and supporting Graduates and technicians in their development and chartership. You will be producing technical reports, detailed design of bridges and other structures in the highway environment, making use of relevant structural software packages. You will be client liaising as well as bidding for work and contract negotiations. You will also be in charge of producing tenders including quality documentation and costings.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role you will need to have significant experience with bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes. A knowledge of Euro codes and Autocad. You will also have experience in the design of concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures. Your experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team will be a massive benefit. Exposure working with both private and local authorities, together with major contractors. Your Degree in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering and being close to Chartership with ICE and IstructE will be a benefit.
