Your new role
Your new structural Engineering role at Oakwrights will involve you designing a selection of Timber frame structures and will ensure that Oakwrights structures are attractive, profitable, efficient and safe to erect, as well as structurally sound by assisting in the development of individual project designs from concept to production. You will be working on bespoke designs and have the opportunity to develop your designs with the clients. You will get the opportunity to Research and develop solutions to general or specific issues that will either improve the end product, the service to the customer, or the efficiency and profitability. You will be responsible for the structural integrity of all your designs. You will be Designing foundations, retaining walls, steel structural elements, etc.
What you'll need to succeed
To Succeed at Oakwrights you will need to have experience of timber structures, ideally both post & beam, traditionally-jointed structures, and panelled construction. You will need to have a degree in engineering and preferable be chartered. Your attention to detail and logical and inquisitive nature will allow you to excel in this role. You will need to have a knowledge of AutoCAD as well as other structural analysis packages. Consultative skills are needed to ensure that optimum solutions can be developed with colleagues and external parties. As a professionally qualified person, you will be well presented with a good technical knowledgeable and confident demeanour, especially when working with clients and partners.
