Associate Hydrologist based in Altrincham for a medium sized consultancy. Paying up to £45,000 + car allowance

Your new role
Main Duties and Responsibilities will include; developing both 1D and 2D hydraulic models (using ISIS, Flood Modeller, ISIS-TUFLOW, HEC-RAS as well as other hydraulic modelling software as required), preparation and data analysis using GIS software (ArcGIS, Maplnfo), project Management, supporting and developing less experienced hydraulic modelling staff, data Analyses, Report Writing and Presentation, hydraulic design of river and flood defence structures (including culverts, weirs, stilling structures, fish passes etc), setting the technical direction for hydraulic studies and preparation of project proposals, bids, fee estimates.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate analytical subject (Civil Engineering, Environmental Science , Water Resources, Engineering Hydrology), a further Master's degree in Engineering Hydrology, River & Coastal Engineering, Water Resources Technology etc. chartered with CIWEM or ICE (or progressing structured training scheme in relevant discipline), excellent communication and analytical skills, excellent report writing skills, Ability to manage commercial aspects of projects, ability to lead and carry out Flood Risk Assessments and an in depth knowledge of UK flood risk policy (NPPF, SPP and TAN15), proven experience in fluvial hydraulic flood modelling, proven GIS experience, hydraulic design of flood risk management schemes, carrying out technical reviews of hydraulic models and Flood Risk Assessments and field Work as required on a project by project basis.
