SEPA is Scotland’s principal environmental regulator. But we do much more than solely regulate. Our overall aim is to protect our environment and human health, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The scope of our responsibilities is extremely broad; including problem-solving, environmental improvement, addressing climate change, sampling and monitoring, reporting on the state of our environment, advising on environmental issues, protecting citizens and communities from environmental harms, publishing environmental data and information, raising environmental awareness, preparing for future environmental issues, encouraging positive environmental action, and regulation. In order to meet these responsibilities we employ a diverse workforce across our offices situated throughout Scotland.

As Scotland’s national flood forecasting, flood warning and strategic flood risk management authority SEPA leads the way in delivering sustainable flood risk management in Scotland.  We are committed to ensuring that the impact of flooding in Scotland is reducing and we need dedicated, innovative professionals to join us to ensure that we deliver on our commitment.

We are currently seeking experienced professionals who are looking for a challenging career at the forefront of flood risk management in Scotland. In our flooding team you will work collaboratively across SEPA and with its flooding partner organisations to help build the evidence base that drives flood risk management decision making in Scotland.

Over the coming weeks we will be recruiting to a number of flood risk management posts within our flood modelling and flooding policy teams. These varied and interesting roles are a mixture of permanent and fixed term contracts (35 hours per week).

If you have the skills and ambition required and are ready to contribute to driving down the impacts of flooding in Scotland then apply now.
