The Role

They are looking to recruit a Technical Manager into their existing development team to support the identification, development and delivery of sustainable development sites throughout the North. Your initial focus will be on the Transportation elements of the project portfolio, taking projects through local plan allocations, planning applications and delivery. You will provide innovative input into the Masterplanning and Planning processes whilst leading on the identification, design and negotiation of deliverable access and infrastructure to progress the schemes to meet business objectives. An understanding of the wider aspects of such development, including technical issues such as flood risk and SuDs, as well as delivery processes such as highways adoption will be important to an integrated approach. Collaborating with stakeholders (both internal and external) and appointing and managing external consultant teams you will provide effective advice and guidance to manage risk, respond effectively and flexibly to planning challenges to drive optimisation of the developments and will negotiate outcomes to enable commercially viable delivery of schemes. 

About you

You will have a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and professional qualification or commensurate experience in transportation planning and engineering pertinent to physical development of land and property, including a good understanding of planning, transport modelling, customer management, risk management and commercial management of the full project lifecycle. Solution focused, you will have the energy, drive and enthusiasm to do this right thing and the flexibility of thought to be able to respond to changing needs of a project at every stage. Confident and articulate, you will have range of communications to challenge and influence development decisions to deliver high quality, innovative solutions to meet business priorities and maximise performance. Reporting into the Technical Director, there is an extensive knowledge base to support your growth in this role to enable you to meet your full career potential.
