The Witham Fourth District Internal Drainage Board wish to recruit a Technical Engineer.  The Board are looking for a dedicated, versatile engineering professional to join their team based in Boston, Lincolnshire.

The Board is responsible for the land drainage and water level management of 40,928 hectares of Lincolnshire Fens.  Situated to the south of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the Board maintains 702 kilometres of watercourse and operate and maintain seven pumping stations.

In this role you will be the officer responsible for supporting the engineering and operational teams on technical matters and developing best practice.  You will also manage a number of technical projects such as the catchment survey, hydraulic modelling and asset database refresh programmes.  You will also have the opportunity to lead on a number of small environmental enhancement projects.

To be suitable for this role you will possess the experience, technical skills and ability to carry out your work effectively and efficiently.  You will have experience in GiS and GPS applications, with a sound understanding of water level management principles. In addition, this role requires a team player who is prepared to demonstrate commitment and put the team objectives first.

You will be educated to a minimum of Higher National Certificate or Diploma, a degree in Civil Engineering is desirable. Other qualifications will be considered with relevant experience.
