Project Manager, Major Projects
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to be a project manager for strategic major highways schemes in West Sussex.
The County Council is an active partner in the ‘Coast to Capital’ Local Enterprise Partnership which has secured a local growth funding allocation to be spent by 2021 which must be delivered to enable us to be well placed to secure support through subsequent bidding rounds.
West Sussex are also developing further business cases and if successful, the total value of investment in infrastructure that supports economic growth and resilience across the area would be some £220m; schemes range in value from £1m up to £35m and we need your help.
You will ensure the projects are delivered via our framework consulting engineers; to programme, following internal governance and Statutory procedures, and to agreed specifications. You will liaise with external and internal partners, stakeholders and communities about scheme development and will co-ordinate public consultations.
Our schemes are constructed through our framework contractors and you will work closely with them to ensure schemes are delivered to programme and budget and in accordance with the NEC3 contract.
If you have a proven record of success project managing highway schemes with technical expertise and knowledge of statutory procedures, we are looking forward to hearing from you.
You will be joining a wider team that supports its staff in personal development and believes in a strong team ethic.
