Building Surveyor (Home Based, South London Region)
An opportunity for an experienced building surveyor to move into the buoyant insurance sector and to be home based. Our client, an international loss adjusting practice with extensive expertise within building and civil engineering has a network of UK offices and an excellent reputation . You will be part of a team of surveyors and will work closely with your loss adjusting colleagues. Your case load will be varied covering commercial, retail, residential and public sector buildings. The geographical area will have a focus on London and South London. This is one of their busiest regions, its steady expansion will provide plenty of scope for progression.
Duties: Reporting to the survey director you will inspect damage to buildings, carry our defect diagnosis, establish the extent and cost of repairs and advise on reinstatement measures. Provide specifications for work ensuring it complies with building regulations, party wall and planning regulations. Work as part of a team and provide technical advice, support and input on commercial and technical issues effecting the business.
Your Profile: A track record working as a building surveyor with evidence of having taken responsibility for your own workload. You should be an incorporated or chartered member of the CIOB, ICE, RICS, ICES or an equivalent body. A good standard of written and verbal communication will be required. There will be regular contact with colleagues, the public and external stakeholders, well developed interpersonal skills are essential.
