Structural Engineer

This structural consulting engineering firm are looking for a dynamic experienced Just or Nearly Chartered structural engineer to join their trendy and architecturally led practice. They are based in the heart of the City design district. This is a permanent position for a vibrant individual with a degree from a leading university with a building structures and architectural focus.

You will be given mentorship and guidance as well as managed responsibility; you will have the chance to grow with the company and progress your career. The consultancy offers an enhanced benefits package including pension, healthcare, 28 days annual leave (increases with length of service), twice weekly lunches and regular lectures/CPD. They promote a healthy work-hard play- hard balance.

You should have had several years of experience in a design consultancy and have a C.V. which demonstrates your passion and drive to work for a leading design led practice. Excellent communication skills are essential as this is a varied role where you will often represent the consultancy to clients and architects.

You should be interested in architecture and have a real thirst for knowledge as well as be innovative and bright enough to think away from the standard structural engineering. This consultancy provides effective design solutions which are constantly adapting due to advances in systems, technology and solutions. They use varied materials and seek employees who want to explore glass and CLT (cross laminated timber) as structural materials as well as the more mainstream.

There are currently around 15 staff at the practice with a good number of Chartered structural engineers (MICE or MIStructE). You should be a very visual person who is creative and thinks outside the box. You will be given an open platform to explore all aspects of structural design.

The firm has been involved in projects up to £100 Million and have a busy and varied work load of both new build and refurb projects most commonly in the region of £4-5 million. They are an architecturally led practice who offers quality solutions. Ideally you should have some knowledge of Robot. Both directors are members of either the ICE or IStructE and offer a much managed approach to obtaining Chartership if you have not yet achieved this.
