Design ID is an award winning structural engineering consultancy with a well-earned reputation for providing innovative solutions across a range of complex and structurally challenging projects. The business is going through a period of sustained growth, with the head office based in Hillsborough and a growing office in London. The founding directors take great pride in providing an enjoyable and stimulating working environment where employees are challenged to 'think outside the box'. They can offer a wide range of projects, including general building structures, specialist structures and civil infrastructure. They are now seeking to recruit a Chartered Structural Engineer.

Your new role
You will be joining as a Senior Structural Design Engineer to work within an established 6-person team which includes one of the Directors. You will be developing structural solutions from concept stage through detailed design and managing the construction phase on site on a wide range of projects such as refurbishments, new builds, public artwork and multi-storey buildings.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role you will hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have at least 5 years post graduate experience. You should have achieved Chartered status with your chosen professional body and will have a project portfolio that demonstrates excellent understanding of structural design concepts for both traditional and non-traditional (MDF, post tensioned stone, etc) design materials and a thorough knowledge of all relevant design codes. Experience using Masterseries, Scia Engineer or similar analysis packages along with AutoCAD or Revit would be highly advantageous. As well as the technical skills you should be able to demonstrate a creative approach to the design process, a can-do attitude, a willingness to constantly learn and have enthusiasm for improvement.
