Senior Project Manager X 2 – Heavy Civil, Structures & Marine –New Zealand

2019 is underway and due to the award of a number of new contracts this major contractor is looking to recruit new personnel immediately. As a company they work throughout New Zealand and have completed some of the most ingenious and complicated heavy civil, structures and marine projects around including bridges, water treatment works, wharfs, marinas, ferry terminals, piling and foundation works, roads and major concrete works. Working alongside their major projects division they have also been involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects New Zealand has seen.

Their current requirement is for two Senior Project Managers, one to certainly work in Auckland and the second to be based in the North Island. As a Senior Project Manager you will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the industry with a civil contractor, with at least five years in a project management position. Your broader civil and infrastructure experience will be beneficial but it is essential that the bulk of your focus has been on heavy civil, structures and marine projects. In your role as Senior Project Manager you will be comfortable managing budgets and other commercial matters, staffing requirements, health and safety, planning and programming as well as liaising closely with all stakeholders including clients, local and national government bodies and the public. The Auckland project has a value of over $250million and is a joint venture so experience of large projects in either a lone contractor or joint venture capacity will be advantageous. Other desirable attributes include,

• A degree or equivalent industry qualification
• Excellent man management skills
• Great communication and IT skills
• A sense of humour and a desire to do a great job
