Crest Nicholson Midlands are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join their expanding team, covering projects and sites across the West Midlands, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire patch. As part of the Technical team, you will be focusing on Engineering and Adoptions, managing several live sites with new developments in the pipeline for 2019 and further progression for sites in 2020 onwards.
With a unit range of 40-250 across the sites, this role requires an experienced individual with a history of managing multiple residential new build projects simultaneously whilst using your expertise in the Engineering field to drive forward each stage of the pre-planning processes, design management and build.
As the lead for evaluating different engineering options, a key part of your role will be proposing and advising the most efficient and cost effective solutions to the wider team. You will act as the subject matter expert whilst working with the Land team in acquiring commercially viable land and contribute to the planning application process with sections 38, 104 and 278 agreements in mind.
You will be issuing drawings and information through our register system to ensure control on site and make sure that amendments to standard drawings are incorporated by external Consultants. Identifying and resolving any potential technical constraints on land development, commission on ground investigation and remediation reports will be crucial in this role.
Your relationships with statutory authorities and management of Consultants will ensure all design briefs, development plans and budgets are kept to and delivered to a high standard. Reporting to the Technical Executive, you will be collating and providing feedback in respect of technical design matters encountered during construction.
What are we looking for?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong experience in managing the end to end Technical lifecycle in planning, budgeting and delivering residential new homes, from land acquisition through to Adoptions and hand over. Your bias should be on the engineering side, i.e. roads, sewers, land drainage and utilities. You should demonstrate a Construction background, with strong knowledge in ground appraisals, producing and understanding geotechnical and environmental reports and remedial techniques.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving and project management skills, with a clear passion, drive and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional quality new homes to be proud of.
You will be qualified by either HNC/HND or with a Degree in a relevant field. We welcome applications from ICE or CIOB members either with chartered status or currently working towards this.
This role does involve travel to sites across the outlined regions with your main office base at our Midlands office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
