Building Surveyor

An opportunity for a building surveyor to move into the insurance sector and focus on major commercial and industrial buildings in the UK and internationally. Our client is a major player, highly regarded for the expertise they provide to the global insurance industry. The position is within their expanding engineering and construction loss adjusting division, specialising in resolving complex negligence related claims for high value civil and building schemes in the UK and overseas.

You will apply your existing building surveying expertise whilst receiving training and mentoring to become a loss adjusting expert.  Your background should include several years in building surveying private practice, chartership of the RICS is beneficial but not essential if your experience is extensive. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to prepare complex technical reports that can be understood by non-technical people, whilst withstanding professional and legal scrutiny. 

A move to this sector provides project variety and a good degree of autonomy, the skills you acquire will place you in strong demand. Their offices in Leeds offer a high quality working environment, home working is common place and there is excellent flexibility. The industry is less exposed to the economic cycles effecting the wider construction industry and remuneration levels are generous. Occasional short overseas travel may be required.
