Building Structures Engineer

This national, independently owned multi-discipline consultancy has a reputation for building structures design. Their workload is weighted toward new projects with schemes underway in education, healthcare, corporate headquarters and high-rise residential. In addition they are experts in handling sensitive conservation work with landmark heritage work currently in progress.

Your Role: They are looking for a structural engineer to join their London structures team in a project engineering capacity. With the support of your line manager, a principal engineer, you will develop design concepts, calculations and deliver work to project timescales whilst liaising with architects and clients. Structural designs will be carried out using Robot and TEKLA. You will supervise technicians producing AutoCAD and REVIT drawings. Many of your projects will be multi-discipline and require close co-ordination with your civil engineering colleagues.

About You: A degree qualified civil or structural engineer with a 2:1 from a good university. Four years plus steel and concrete design experience. Ready to take on a bigger role with more responsibility for delivering projects. Able to take full advantage of the training opportunities provided and committed to becoming a chartered civil or structural engineer. Good interpersonal and leadership skills, able to guide junior engineers and technicians, liaise with clients and site representatives and work alongside other in-house disciplines.
