A rare opportunity has arisen to for a Structural Resident Engineer join this top London design consultancy. They are recognised as one of the most progressive and successful cutting edge practices in their field and employ over 200 staff. You should be Chartered MICE or MIStructE, with a top notch structural design background and have Resident Engineer experience.

This firm collaborate with the best architects, developers and contractors both in the UK and internationally. They have built up a reputation for innovation, creativity and delivery and, as a consequence, have won numerous high profile awards for their buildings design projects. Their work is usually high profile and architecturally led.

This Structural Resident Engineer role is required to be based on site in Central London working as the interface between the contractor and the structural design consultant co-ordinating design services on large buildings projects - mainly mixed use schemes. You would be working for the design consultant in a roving role assisting in the site supersion of several of their projects - some time will also be spent back at the design office at times.

Their work covers mixed use, commercial, residential, retail and schools projects, in both new build and refurbishment for major developers, architects and contractors.

UK Structural Design and RE Experience and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will require a technically strong and hands-on individual and cover the following specific duties/responsibilities:

* Liaising with Local Authorities and other members of the Project Team during all stages of the project

* Liaise with the Main Contractor to ensure that they understand what is required in terms of safety and the required quality of workmanship of the final product.

* Monitor quality and progress of works on site.

* Provide on-site guidance / engineering support to the Main Contractor for the Primary Structure.

* Respond to Contractor queries and RFI's, providing solutions to technical problems where possible
