An experienced graduate/near chartered structural design engineer with an interest in architecture and experience of delivering projects from scheme through construction is sought by this consultancy.

A dynamic firm with a diverse team and a wide range of experience they have a proven track record in delivering quality buildings design projects in both the UK and Europe.

Their portfolio comprises an impressive variety of work including private residential developments, large-scale commercial projects, environmental, education, and leisure buildings. They also have experience in the conservation of historic buildings and undertake more specialist commissions including glass structures and bespoke art installations.

Their combination of design led practice, transparent communication and creative flair - along with their innovative approach to problem solving - delivers outstanding value for their clients.

They have a great variety of work and ideally you should have experience in both Refurbishment and New-Build. Candidates will need to demonstrate experience of a range of completed projects, be well organised with the ability to run a number of projects on a day to day basis with minimal direction. They offer a competitive package, training and career development and a minimum of 25 days paid holiday per year.

Key responsibilities will include:

Working under the guidance of Senior Engineers to produce Analysis models & Calculations
Running small projects from conception to completion
Client and team liaison and correspondence
Working towards Chartership with the IStructE

Desired Skills & Experience

Ideally have achieve a 2:1 or above on an Architectural Engineering Masters Degree
Ability to describe and illustrate load path
Ability to express structural form through sketching
Knowledge of engineering forms and precedents including why they were appropriate to the specific situations.
Experience of running small projects to deliver technical and commercial success.
Experience of scheming technical solutions and presenting these internally and externally.
The ability to design and detail in timber, steel, concrete and masonry.
The ability to analyse engineering structures in 2D & 3D

Able to present clear calculations to justify an engineering proposal and check calculations Ability to inspect work on site, record opening up works and defects, recognise and report unsafe working practices.
Ability of managing own workload and those people working for you; give and receive effective briefings.
