Principal Transport Planner

Your new company
A Small to medium sized focused company who deliver exceptional client service adding value to their development proposals through the planning process. Based in London and the East region of England this company have project coverage across the Country, with the majority of their projects based in the East Anglia and the South East Region.

Your new role
You will be responsible for day to day project management of tasks to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner for projects. You will lead other staff in delivering solutions under the guidance of more senior staff and the Directors within the Company. in Addition to the management of projects and staff, you'll be expected to develop strong relationships with clients and other consultants through work that you generate individually for the business, or as part of the existing workload and client base that the Company have already established.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be expected to have commensurate qualifications, a first degree in civil engineering/transport planning, or a similar subject, with a masters in transport planning. Alternatively, you may have a HND/HNC background with good experience and either achieved or be contemplating a Masters in transport planning. You'll have extensive experience and a strong knowledge of the development planning process including the role of planning applications and understanding of Local Plans. Your main focus will be managing and preparing Transport Assessments/Travel Plans/ES Chapters, use of normal software in junction design and capacity assessment (LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, TRANSYT), use of the TRICS database, knowledge of survey methods and analysis and knowledge of road safety & junction designs with use of AutoCAD.
