Facade / Structural Engineer

An opportunity for a degree qualified structural or civil engineer with façade design experience. This is a role working closely with industry as it develops and tests new technologies and products. Our client is looking for an engineer with a consulting engineering background capable of working with a range of industry stakeholders and experts. You will be part of a large team of civil, structural and materials experts and will receive full training in their processes and procedures. Your work will focus on the technical assessment of structural, civil and building products such as facades, super-structures, modular buildings , timber building systems, composites, wall and floor panels, roofing systems, sustainable urban drainage and more. Plus, revolutionary, new to the market innovations. As part of a team and supported by in-house technical experts, your duties will include preparation of contracts, test specifications and technical reports; checking structural calculations, interpreting test data, site investigations, programming of work, participation in technical committees in the UK and occasionally Europe. You will also provide advice to clients that are innovating and developing new products for market. There will be the need to stay up to date on the latest standards and technologies requiring liaison with regulatory authorities.

You will need a mix of technical, organisational and interpersonal skills. This should include at least two years design experience within the structural or facades sector.
