Our client are one of the worlds leading consultancies and they are looking for Senior Highways Engineer to take responsibility for all aspects of highway design to work on local, national and international schemes from their office in Newcastle.

We would like to hear from candidates who are able to offer experience and proficiency in some of the following areas.

·Project management or asset management
·Alignment design
·Drainage design
·Pavement design and refurbishment
·Signs and road markings
·Safety barrier
·Asset inspection
·Management of design and delivery of highway maintenance schemes
·Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment, operating across a matrix of projects.
·Experience of preparing written work
·Experience of preparing for and attending meetings with clients and/or statutory consultees.
·Experience of working with HE processes (i.e. Project Control Framework and Collaborative Delivery Framework) desirable
·Experience of working in the Design and Build sector particularly preparing tenders for contractors.
·A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills
·Full awareness of Current Health and Safety Legislation and how it is applied to the design process

You will be a degree qualified civil engineer with strong experience, preferably working in a highways design environment in either new build or maintenance, working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE and or MCIHT)
