Senior Highways Manager

Senior Highways Manager required to lead the Highways section within a local authority in Leicestershire.


Interim role for 6 months to carry out the council's duty to maintain the public highway including carriageways, footways, public rights of way, trees, signing and lining, street lighting, structures and drainage.

Must have relevant experience in the following;

• Monitor and control the revenue and capital budgets associated with the Highways section.
• Manage the performance of Highways section and associated contractors.
• Responsible for all staff management, discipline and appraisals.
• Act as a CDM coordinator on highway schemes.
• Develop the Transport Asset Management plan.
• Managing section 38, 278 and 106 agreements.
• Preparing transport plans - TAMP/MA/Winter Maintenance.
• Winter maintenance and out of hours emergency operations.
