Conwy County Borough Council is looking for an experienced Development Control Officer to join a team involved in traffic engineering and regulation, accident investigation, road safety engineering, education, training and publicity, planning and development control.
You will ensure that we meet all statutory requirements in assessing, determining and advising on planning consultations, applications and other matters to promote sustainable transport, reduce accidents and aid the safe movement of all highway users.
You should have a HNC in civil engineering or other relevant discipline and experience in a traffic/transport related field. You should also have knowledge of current legislation and practice relating to planning, development control and highway law and an understanding of wider traffic and network management principles and methods.
The role requires a high standard of written and verbal communication, project management skills and a creative approach to problem solving and achieving positive outcomes. The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable.
