Chartered Civil Engineer (Move into the Insurance Sector)

 An engineer with a building structures background is required by this leading international insurance loss adjuster.  Our client resolves claims within in the civil engineering, building structures and surveying sectors. The firm is the first point of call for many leading insurers, providing both legal and engineering expertise. They are looking for a chartered civil or structural engineer with a strong academic background and well developed interpersonal skills. A broad background is desirable, this should include a strong technical grounding gained with a consulting practice. In addition you will need experience of commercial buildings and heavy structures and an appreciation of planning and programming issues. The practice will invest considerable time and recourses to train you. You will work alongside the managing director who will introduce you to the specific technicalities and nuances of the role. You will learn how to examine claims forensically, how to interact with insurers, claimants and legal professionals and how to prepare reports. Excellent communications and negotiation skills are required, key to your success will be the ability to broker deals, often in face to face situations. The practice employs over one hundred and fifty staff and is developing its overseas business, there are good future career prospects.
