Civil Highways & Drainage Engineer ( With ICE approved training)

Our client is an award winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy and a leader in sustainable development design in the UK.  They have an opportunity that offers invaluable training and experience for a civil engineer experienced in the design of below ground drainage and highways works. You will undergo training under agreement with the Institution of Civil Engineers to help you achieve chartered MICE status and you will be mentored and assisted along the by a senior chartered civil engineer.

Projects will include commercial, residential, leisure and public sector schemes valued up to £200 million. You should be proficient in the use of AutoCad, Microdrainage and AutoDesk Civils 3D or similar ground modelling packages.

Your role will encompass designing and detailing of drainage systems and estate roads up to adoptable standards, negotiation and completion of the technical aspects of all required Section Agreements for highways and drainage works, the design of SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage systems),  compliance with UK sustainability requirements including production of Sur1 reports;  report writing, including Basic Flood Risk Assessments and the supervision of reports and specialist designs  produced by outside consultants.

 A minimum of three years engineering design experience is required. The position will develop your technical and interpersonal skills and involve attending project meetings and  providing written reports to clients and senior management.
