Senior Geotechnical Engineer

This leading player in the design and construction of major building, civil infrastructure and industrial works is looking for a senior geotechnical expert to manage a team of five experienced, professionally qualified geotechnical engineers. They provide front-end geotechnical advice and detail design solutions for schemes throughout the UK. You will be working within a multidiscipline design environment alongside architects, structural and civil engineers.

They are looking for a geotechnical manager who can take responsibility for the continued high performance and evolution of the team. This will entail mentoring staff, taking ownership of project delivery and taking part in the design process. A background in consulting or contracting would be equally relevant. Your geotechnical engineering expertise should have given you an understanding of; design of pile foundations, D walls and secant walls, geology and ground engineering, ground retention for temporary and permanent works.

You will report to the director of the design division and will often be present at in-house design meeting as well as meetings with clients and projects managers. You will have support from your colleagues and line manager. The office is highly resourced and provides excellent facilities.
