An opportunity for a structural or a civil engineer looking for more interesting, varied work in building structures design. Our client’s work is predominantly in new non-residential buildings with around a third in the conservation sector. In addition they have extensive special structures expertise utilising a wide range of materials ranging from glass to fabrics.
This is an opportunity to work alongside and learn from a recognised industry figure who is also a reviewer for the IStructE and a fellow of the ICE and IStructE. The training and mentorship you will receive will be invaluable and if you’re motivated you will achieve chartered status swiftly. As a member of a small project group you will be applying your engineering theory and creative thinking to projects in the arts, commercial, conservation and education sectors. Your role will involve detail design and analysis, you will be included in the whole design process and be encouraged to steadily develop your project engineering skills. There will be regular contact with architects, contractors and clients, and occasional site visits predominantly in London.
You should be a bright, degree qualified civil or structural Engineer with at least two years design experience. This could have been gained in civil or structural engineering. You will need a strong technical leaning and some creative spark. The practice has become highly productive by exploiting technology effectively. Revit is used throughout and GSA, Oasys and Robot is used for analysis.
