Quantity Surveyor - Civil and Infrastructure - New Zealand

The civil and infrastructure sector in New Zealand has had a busy start to 2019 but that’s nothing compared to what is coming over the next few years and the foreseeable future. The industry is already working at capacity and before the end of the year two further projects in Auckland will be underway, with a combined value of over $4 billion. The number of professionals required to complete those projects, as well as all the other work, is still being assessed but contractors know that the majority of those new hires will come from overseas.

The immediate requirement is for an Intermediate or Project Quantity Surveyor to work on a large joint venture project in the heart of Auckland. The project covers a number of civil disciplines including marine, heavy civils, structures, roads & paving to name but a few. As such varied civil experience will work well with this project. Long term you will be working with one of New Zealand’s largest civil and infrastructure contractors and as such have the pick of projects in the future. Depending on the level of your experience duties will include budget management, cost review and programming, progressing claims/variations and general financial reporting as part of the successful commercial management of this project. You will part of a strong commercial team and will gain massive experience as well as ongoing career development whilst working in one of the most exciting locations in the South Pacific.

Other desirable qualities include,

• A degree or equivalent industry based qualification
• Excellent man management skills
• Great communication and IT skills
• A good sense of humour and a drive to be successful
