Our client, a successful, Civil and Structural design practice, with offices across the UK, are actively seeking a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 3 to 4 years experience to join a team in Newcastle.

As a forward-thinking practice, they are entering an exciting stage of development and are expanding. They undertake high profile commercial and residential projects, including new builds, refurbishments and extensions as well as historic, listed buildings. With a broad client range including valuable private clients and with long-standing relationships with major national clients you will be joining a friendly and stable firm offering on-going progression opportunities. 

Their continued growth means they are looking for an ambitious Structural Engineer to develop their careers and become key members of the design team.

You will have a BEng or MEng Civil / Structural Engineering or Engineering Design and 3 to 4 years or more design experience. You will be a self-starter and have excellent communication and organisation skills. You will be a good team player who will enjoy working as part of a dynamic, growing team. 

A good knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and load bearing masonry structures is essential and the ability to design to British Standards or Eurocodes.  Experience with computer software is desirable – notably TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot and TEDDS; and you will need to be an excellent communicator with a positive working attitude.

This is a permanent position and successful candidates will have the opportunity to take on a variety of projects and be involved in all aspects from scheme design, through to construction on site. You will undertake site visits throughout the UK in relation to extension and refurbishment projects for national clients, as well as working on new-build schemes.
