Job Details

Civil engineering infrastructure is a lead discipline at this independently owned national consultancy. This new opportunity for an engineer with highways and drainage experience offers a move to one of the most successful infrastructure businesses in the UK. This would be a career enhancing move for someone who wants to free themselves of the limitations of civil infrastructure as a complimentary discipline.

The practice is working for the UK’s busiest clients and involved in major re-generation, residential, commercial, retail, education, leisure and health projects. The breadth of work will ensure you gain broad experience ranging from major out of town developments to city centre projects that require extensive co-ordination with existing services. There will also be smaller projects suitable for taking on more ownership of delivery and project management. Close support and mentorship will be provided by your mentor and more senior engineers. You will be encouraged to develop your expertise and will work alongside colleagues with in-depth expertise of sustainable urban drainage, balance storage and discharge of surface water, flood risk assessments, master planning, junction design, highway design & alignment.

Your background should include three or more years of drainage/highways design. You will need to be adept at using industry standard software including some Auto CAD experience. Currently they are running Civil 3D, WinDes and MicroDrianage.  You should be a degree or HND qualified engineer who is working toward becoming an incorporated or chartered engineer with the ICE or CIWEM. A good proportion of their major projects are in London and there will be regular client contact and liaison with external stakeholders. Good interpersonal skills are essential. They provide a highly resourced working environment and on-going training and CPD activities. The continued success and expansion of the business means that if you are motivated and able progression will be swift. The firm is a major player but remains staunchly independent and there is a friendly and supportive office culture.
