Your new company
You will be working with one of the UK's leading highways service provider, working with a wide range of partners from key central organisations like Highways England through to a wide range of local authorities, who are collectively responsible for the roads we travel on. They manage 50,000km of the UK's strategic and local authority road network and for over 90 years they have helped clients to deliver a wide range of road, bridge and tunnel projects, and have handled everything from planning, programming and delivery of major road schemes to routine maintenance and operation.


Your new role
You will be the main Geotechnical focal point for SWDSC, acting as Geotechnical Design Team Leader, and co-coordinating support from KDS geotechnical resources. Provide guidance to Kier Engineering Manager, Design Managers & Team Leaders, Environment Manager and Structures Manager.

Production of design documentation for all geotechnical aspects of task orders issued by Highways England under the SWDSC, including design of foundations, slopes and retaining walls.

Managing and completing technical approval documentation and pro-actively liaising with Highways England Technical Specialists.


What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience in the following;
Project manage with the assistance of Geotechnical team members to deliver Geotechnical scheme on time and to budget
Manage any Geotechnical inputs for schemes across the full portfolio of other disciplines
Supervision of ground investigations
Preparing, checking and authorising design calculations, technical documents, drawings and reports
Managing, developing and mentoring of Geotechnical Staff
Ensure compliance with the quality, safety and environmental management systems.
