Our client is looking to appoint a Technical Director to their Building Structures division and to be considered you must be Chartered and ideally, an SER Certifier.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will join an existing team, initially comprising 6 technical staff including 5 Structural Engineer and 1 Structural Technician.

Reporting to board level you will be responsible for developing and managing the Glasgow Structures team with a high level of autonomy, although guidance and support will always be on offer.

There will be a nice balance between engineering and operational management duties which offers an attractive set for those looking to maintain a reasonable level of technical delivery in the role.

You will be responsible for business development, client management, project delivery, resource planning, staff management and recruitment. If you feel you are lacking in experience in any of the above areas, you will have a great support network on offer to mentor and support your own development.

The medium term offers a very rare opportunity to move to Director (board level) as part of succession planning, which is likely to come to fruition within 3 years and will offer a higher level of responsibility on a regional basis.

ABOUT YOU

  • You will likely be operating at Associate level at present and looking for that next step or pathway to Director level
  • It's assumed you are Chartered and ideally, an SER Certifier
  • Your technical experience should cover a verity of project types, ideally in the Scottish market
  • Experience working at an operational level is critical
  • Experience in the Scottish buildings market is desirable

ON OFFER

Basic salary will reflect the depth of your experience but will be between £70,000 and £90,000.
