There is a lot happening in York, including major transport projects:

  • Upgrading the outer ring road.
  • The largest regeneration scheme in decades around the Railway Station.
  • A new Community Stadium.
  • Significant transport initiatives such as the introduction of one of the largest electric bus fleets in the country.

There are a number of Senior Transport Project Manager posts available which will lead on the deliver of key elements of the Council's Transport Capital Programme.

The city is delivering over GBP 200m of transport infrastructure projects including the upgrade of the Outer Ring Road, improvements to the station frontage and the York Central development highway infrastructure and provision of improved security measures for the city centre.

You will be part of a small team obtaining the necessary consents, procuring and supervising contractors and consultants and project managing the success delivery of the projects to programme and budget. You will have experience with project managing multidisciplinary highway schemes and the use of the NEC suite of contracts.
