Senior Structural Engineer

Your new company
Are a well known brand in the Edinburgh market who have worked on projects from small scale bespoke housing through to large framework commercial developments. My client are offering a secure working environment having recently been appointed on a large scale mixed-use development, furthering their current portfolio which was already growing.

Your new role
You will join the business to run projects whilst beginning to expand the team by appointing more junior engineers and a technician who you will manage to deliver on your project deadlines. Further to your design and checking responsibilities you will deal directly with clients and contractors on the projects.

What you'll need to succeed
You will require a background in consultancy based structural design of buildings to have gained the expected technical design experience to be considered for the role. Further to that having had exposure to site visits, client meetings and delivering to deadlines will be essential. My client is happy to consider someone who can bring these skills into a more senior role, taking the lead on running projects, leading client meetings and taking responsibilities for planning and delivering work. Those who are Chartered with either the ICE or IStructE will be considered first, however, a relevant accredited civil or structural engineering degree is essential as the firm offer an ICE training scheme to become Chartered. You will not be support through extra education to begin this process.
