Civil Modelling Technician

A renowned multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Central London is now looking for their next strategic hire within the Civils department.

This firm has a unique opportunity for a Civil Modelling Technician. The successful candidate will be self-motivating and proactive, driving expansion of existing areas and maximising new sector opportunities.

We're looking to hear from technician's who are capable of working with minimal supervision, under the guidance of the Project BIM Lead to execute Civil Model projects.

Requirements:

• Relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent

• 3-6 years' experience in Civils, with a minimum of 2-3 years' of BIM/Civil 3D experience
• Strong work-ethic and willingness to adapt
• Proficient in the use of Civil 3D, Navisworks and AutoCAD
• Experience using 3rd party BIM applications i.e 3DS Max, Google Earth, Microsoft Office
• Experience using IFC data structure and modelling concept
• Good working knowledge of RIBA Plan of Works, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors NRM1 and PAS 1192-2:2013 Specification for information management for the capital/delivery phase of construction projects using building information modelling;

Responsibilities:

• Head the Civil Engineering CAD and modelling team from a Quality and Assurance perspective
• Produce and review civil engineering drawing documents
• Create and edit 3D models using computer-assisted design applications (AutoCAD 2D, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD and 3D Studio Max).
• Ability to understand architects' design documents and produce structural models, under the guidance of a structural engineer
• Ability to understand utilities services design documents and integrate into Civils models
• Adopt flexible approach and be able to adapt the Civil Model to suit the progress of the project
