Your new company
Your new company is an award winning diverse company of Consulting Engineers established in 1995. They have a range of expertise in structural engineering, civil engineering and party wall matters. Based in Bristol, they serve the South West of England and Wales and extend their services through to London and throughout the UK. They work on a range of projects and like to be involved from an early stage, right through the design process and construction, up to completion.

Your new company aim to take into account each client's specific needs and believe their success lies in their passion for engineering practical, simple solutions using a sustainable approach towards materials like concrete, steel, timber, masonry and glass. Occasionally they undertake projects involving less common materials, such as straw bales, and always enjoy involvement in quirky public art installations.

Your new role
In your new role you will be undertaking detailed design and analysis of structural elements and frames in concrete, steel, timber and masonry for mostly residential, educational and commercial buildings, liaising with architects, statutory authorities, the design team and contractors, be involved with site surveys and inspection work and working together with others to meet deadlines.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be able to understand and create structural plans and details from architectural plans using AutoCAD, have carried out detailed design and analysis of structural elements and frames in concrete, steel, timber and masonry to current Eurocodes and relevant design guidance notes, be able to communicate fluently in both spoken and written English, think creatively and logically to resolve design challenges and be able to manage your own time and work load.

What you'll get in return
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary £22,000 - £28,000 DOE, 23 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing to 25 days in the first two years, private health insurance after 3 months, pension contributions, support in obtaining Chartership, regular social and team building activities, excellent open-plan working environment and unlimited tea, coffee, fruit and nuts provided.
