About the role

Responsible for designing – or managing the design of – repairs, you’ll engage in an extremely wide range of activities. From contributing technical advice during the feasibility phase to preparing briefing documents for our direct labour force. From acting as Principal Designer for works on individual projects to helping to define standards and procedures for the Trust as a whole. And the best part is that, throughout everything you do, you will be working to conserve and enhance our precious waterways for future generations.

About you

We’re looking for qualified engineers with proven experience of engineering design and construction, ideally in a water environment. You’ll have a good understanding of historic infrastructure, and will know how to assess infrastructure risk. Some experience of delivering engineering activities is also essential. Other key qualities we look for include strong negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to present technical data to non-technical audiences.
