Building Structures Associate Designate
A senior building structures engineer ready for a move up to a managerial position is required by a leading multi-discipline practice with a reputation for building structures innovation. Your work will be UK wide with emphasis on new, high value projects covering commercial, urban regeneration, healthcare, corporate headquarters and high-tech research and manufacturing facilities. High-rise buildings will feature regularly. They frequently provide integrated multi-discipline designs, providing regular contact with civil and M&E colleagues. This will develop your project co-ordination and management expertise. Clients will include leading developers and high-profile architects, they will require a high level of technical expertise and collaboration.
With the support of the Birmingham based structures director you will have an involvement in schemes from client consultation stage through to completion. This will include scheme design, design production, assisting with fee negotiations, programming work and project delivery. There will be regular meetings with clients and occasional site visits. Your track record and potential are of most importance, chartership with the ICE or IStructE is preferred, but you may be on the path to chartership, in which case support and mentoring will be provided. Your experience must include steel and concrete design and you will have worked at senior structural engineer or project structural engineer level. Good Interpersonal skills are essential, you will need to guide junior engineers and form productive relationships with colleagues and clients.
The position provides swift progression to associate director, and, the company’s growth and structure will allow for continued progression.
