Your new company are a very friendly and modern multi-disciplinary engineering design consultancy that have been providing high quality and successful services for over 50 years. Made up from a team of easy-going, professionally qualified engineers, the team have a wealth of experience working on projects across a number of different sectors. The company pride themselves on delivering innovative, commercial and practical engineering solutions to its extensive client list which comprises of many leading construction companies and other household organisation names. They are committed to developing and maintaining lasting partnerships to ensure that the clients' project goals and aspirations are achieved. Due to an expanding work load, they are now looking to appoint a Principal Structural Engineer to join their high-performing Bristol team.

Your new role
In your new role as a Principal Structural Engineer you will be responsible for technical design and report preparation, delivering projects within the South of the UK and further afield. You will be generating work while working closely with the team lead to assist with general team management. You will supervise a small but able team and mentor the more junior graduate engineers. You will have a large involvement in both new build and refurbishment projects working from the early planning stages right through to the end of the delivery phase, across a number of different sectors.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have some experience of general team management and supervision along with experience of management of projects involving other disciplines. You'll need to have a good technical knowledge of building design and general structural engineering, good written and verbal communication skills, and good problem solving, analytical skills and numerical knowledge. You should have a practical approach to time-management and the ability to switch between jobs at short notice, able to deliver multiple projects at the same time, and able to work independently. An appreciation and knowledge of civil infrastructure design would be beneficial. Prior experience and knowledge of Building Structures and Structural Engineering is essential for this role including a recognised engineering degree and Chartership with either the Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers.
