Chartered Civil Engineer

They are looking for a chartered civil or structural engineer with excellent communication skills and a 2:1 or above from a leading university. The firm’s expertise is in forensic engineering relating to civil, structural, and geotechnical work in the UK and overseas. Projects include airports, tunnels, bridges, stadia, commercial and residential buildings, industrial facilities, and railways. They provide clear and objective expert advice to clients, usually on the cause of a failure to a structure above or below the ground. Your role will be to analyse the failure and understand why it occurred and what was to blame. You will work alongside insurers, consulting engineers and your findings will often be used to establish legal liability for the failure. You will need good report writing and interpersonal skills. You will regularly meet clients, sometimes during challenging circumstances. A good degree from a leading university is a pre-requisite. If not already chartered you should be on the verge of chartership. The company is close to railway links and located in an attractive part of the South East.
