Mae'r rôl yn gofyn am beiriannydd â chefndir peirianneg sifil cadarn i reoli a datblygu cynlluniau rheoli asedau perygl llifogydd mewn cymunedau ledled gogledd Cymru i helpu i leihau'r perygl o lifogydd o'n moroedd a'n hafonydd, gan sicrhau bod ein cyllid refeniw a chyfalaf yn cael ei flaenoriaethu i ddarparu rhaglen wella a chynnal a chadw gynaliadwy a diogel sy’n rhoi gwerth am arian. 

Rheoli a monitro prosiectau mewnol o'r asesiad cychwynnol i'r cyfnod cyflenwi a chynrychioli Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru fel ein uwch-gleient ar ein cynlluniau cyfalaf mwy cymhleth.

Gyda phwyslais ar ein hasedau arfordirol a llanwol a heriau rheoli'r dyfodol, cynrychioli Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru mewn gwahanol grwpiau rhanddeiliaid a grwpiau partner proffesiynol ac ar waith ymgysylltu â chymunedau.

Senior Flood Risk Engineer

  • Location: Flexible in North or Mid Wales
  • Grade & Salary: 6 - £33,424

  • Work Pattern: Full time, 37 hours
  • Your role will primarily be office based but may entail travel between different NRW locations and you will also work out in the field
  • Welsh Language Requirements: Level 4 – fluent in spoken Welsh

Job Purpose

The role requires an Engineer with a sound Civils background to manage and develop Flood Risk Asset Management plans to communities across North Wales to help reduce the risk of flooding from our Sea and Rivers, ensuring that our capital and revenue funding is prioritised to provide a sustainable, safe and value for money maintenance and improvement programme.

Manage and monitor in-house projects from initial assessment to delivery and represent NRW as our Senior client on our more complex capital schemes.

With emphasis on our coastal and tidal assets and future management challenges, represent Natural Resources Wales on various stakeholder groups, Professional partner groups and community engagement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or equivalent in a scientific subject.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Member or working towards membership of a relevant professional body such as Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE)/Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
